The Philadelphia Eagles are taking action after a “counterfeit” political advertisement endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election surfaced on social media, Fox News reports.

The animated poster, depicting Harris wearing an Eagles helmet and bearing the slogan “Kamala, official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles,” was reportedly spotted at a bus stop in Philadelphia. The poster also included a link to the Eagles’ website, which displayed voter information. However, the information on the website appeared to be outdated, last updated before the Pennsylvania and New Jersey primaries.

The Eagles organization quickly issued a statement denying any involvement in the creation or distribution of the advertisement. “We are aware counterfeit political ads are being circulated and are working with our advertising partner to have them removed,” the statement posted to social media read.

CBS News identified the artist behind the fictitious poster as Winston Tseng, known for his street art that often utilizes brands and advertising to highlight societal issues. In a 2023 interview with Street Art News, Tseng stated that he aims to “use brands and advertising to communicate societal issues, hopefully bringing some unexpected attention to them in our daily lives.”
