  • PublishedAugust 16, 2024

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s latest financial disclosure form reveals a surprising investment in cryptocurrency, totaling between $1 million and $5 million and profitable venture into branded Bibles, with Trump earning $300,000 from sales of “The Greenwood Bible,” which features a handwritten chorus from Lee Greenwood’s famous patriotic song, NBC News reports.

The price of a branded Bible, listed in the disclosure as “The Greenwood Bible,” stands at $59.99. The item includes a handwritten chorus to the song “God Bless the USA” by country singer Lee Greenwood. According to the branded Bible’s website, a limited edition copy with a Trump’s signature sells for $1,000.

Trump’s cryptocurrency holdings have shown a shift in his public stance on digital currency. Initially dismissing it as a “scam” during his first term, he has since adopted a more supportive approach, even boasting about building a “crypto army.”

This change appears influenced by lobbying efforts from the cryptocurrency industry and the growing popularity of crypto among a segment of Trump’s base.

“And I know a lot of very good people that are really into that world and into that market. They’re smart, they’re good people, and they think it’s going to be very beneficial,” Trump said recently on a livestream with streamer Adin Ross, adding that if the US isn’t involved in crypto, China will be.

Trump’s financial disclosure also revealed a significant increase in the valuation of Truth Social, his social media company, from $5 million to $25 million in 2022 to over $50 million this year. Additionally, Trump has registered over 100 trademarks in China, a stark increase from the two he reported last year.
